Ways to Help
Ways you can help the Monkeys
We believe that the monkeys richly deserve the chance to live worthy lives
free from fear and stress in as natural surroundings as possible after
spending all their lives confined in cages for entertainment and research.
To give the monkeys a peaceful environment we are not open to the public so
have to rely totally on donations to keep the monkeys living safely on their
islands. If we run out of money these intelligent and sensitive creatures
(Capuchins have mental equivalence of 6 year old children) would either have
to be put to sleep or separated from their companions and caged again which
would be appalling for them.
We cannot let that happen so are appealing to you for your kind support.
THE MONKEY SANCTUARY IS NOW A REGISTERED CHARITY SO COMPANIES AND
INDIVIDUALS CAN AVAIL OF TAX BENEFITS OF GIVING DONATIONS.
Our charity number is : CHY 14560

VOLUNTEERING
WWOOF MEMBERS
Willie is a WWOOF host and welcomes experienced, laid back world travellers
who are familiar with what to expect and are prepared for a working
environment where the animals take precedence!
Basic accommodation includes mobile homes and caravan-you will need you own
sleeping bag. Cooking (plentiful vegetarian ingredients are provided) and
lighting a wood stove/fire are handy skills to have.
The Sanctuary is suited to those serious about animals, their welfare and
animal protection issues. Caring for animals involves working outdoors in
all weather - so rubber boots (Wellies) and warm, rainproof clothing is a
must! It is hard work attending to all the animals needs and there is often
building and landscaping work going on which volunteers help with. Every day
is different!
Working with animals always involves an element of risk as animals are
unpredictable, so volunteers are reminded to be sensible, careful and to
always ask how to treat each animal.
We advise WWOOF members to email and phone Willie on 086 0683693
and find out if the Sanctuary will suit your interests and skills.
LONG TERM VOLUNTEERS
We are in need of long-term volunteers (3-6 months) who wish to gain
informal experience working with primates and learn about running a small,
but unique animal sanctuary with all it entails! Please email
willie@monkeysanctuary.com for more details.
If you are willing to help on a regular basis please email
willie@monkeysanctuary.com with your details.
